The term street level hero is often used in a derogatory fashion, designed to belittle the "underpowered" heroes of a given comic universe. I don't see it that way. To me, the street level hero is one of the most compelling heroes. Maybe they have powers, maybe they don't, but each goes out and often thanklessly does their part to keep their cities and neighborhoods safe.
